Have you seen the hashtag #streakingwiththecoolkids recently? During the month of June I have challenged myself to run or walk at least a mile a day. I know, this doesn’t seem like a lot however, you would be surprised how fast the day goes sometimes.
I have been running since middle school. To help paint the time frame that was back in the 90’s. Yup, a long time ago. I have never ran or walked 30 days in a row. What in the world have I gotten myself into? This is huge! The best thing about this challenge is you can do it anywhere. It can take up as much or as little time as you want it to. I don’t have a plan set on how many miles I want to run each day. I have found listening to my body is the best thing I can do for me.
I will share a little secret that helps me through any workout…..my clothes. Seriously, when I feel great in the outfit I am wearing it helps me rock whatever I am doing. During the summer months you will always find me wearing a Lululemon running skirt. I actually get excited to put my clothes on and start running. If you don’t have a outfit that gets you excited about your workout I encourage you to invest in you. You are so worth it! Just like anything in life, if you feel great you will rock it.
I love this skirt so much I have it in three colors. Before trying this skirt on I would have never thought about wearing a white skirt to run in. Needless to say, I love pairing it with my favorite color….black. How great is this running outfit? On a side note, it’s the perfect outfit to run errands during the hot summer months. I get overheated fast and sweat easily. This outfit helps pull the sweat away which is key to keeping my body as comfortable as it can be without letting everyone around me know I am sweating like a hog.
Even though we are past the first of June, I encourage YOU to challenge yourself to move your body each day. Enjoy the extra daylight and get outside or jump on a treadmill and turn on the fan. I will be there with you each and every single mile. You got this! Remind yourself a mile completed is a mile you wouldn’t have done otherwise.
Happy Running Friends!
