We all have clothing brands and designers we like over others. Some we like however, can’t afford it or it doesn’t look right on. Some brands lift our spirits and make us want to tackle our day or even better yet, our workout. From me, it’s Lululemon.
When you first walk into the store you might be wondering what all the hype is about, as it’s just workout apparel. Believe it or not, it’s more than workout apparel. They have items ranging from dresses to water bottles depending on the time of the year. As you wonder through the store you will see images of local brand ambassadors who teach various classes throughout the area. You never know, your favorite instructor might be hanging on their wall.
Lululemon is a unique brand that I have come to love. Their apparel is top of the line. As a fitness instructor I have come to appreciate their technology behind every piece. Each piece has a purpose and a point and is communicated by the sales tag as well as on the website. If you didn’t have a chance to view either of these and an Lululemon Educator sees you looking at a particular item, they will be sure to fill you in on the ins and outs of that particular item. Each week in store they offer a free community workout. The workout varies per store location. I have seen runs, boot camp, yoga, and more being offered. This is a good opportunity to try a class out that you may have been wanting to try for FREE.
Lululemon is known for new releases every week. You heard me right, every week they release new items on their website and in stores. It is simply exciting to see what colors and prints will be dropping or what new items they have come up with every Tuesday. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more and more. It can become very addicting. On top of new releases every week they also have mark downs every Thursday. They definitely push their merchandise at a faster pace than other stores. This also creates a sense of fomo (fear of missing out) if you pass on something that was released or markdown. If you don’t grab it when you can you may never see it again.
The fomo is real. Lulu lovers all over buy knowing they may see someone else wearing it and loving it and they don’t want to be the person left with regret if they didn’t buy it. The silver lining in this is the BST (buy, sell, trade) market on Lululemon. If you check out eBay you will see all sorts of items for sale. Some may even be from 2008. Depending on the market depends the resale value on items you are selling. You will always get more from your lulu clothes than what you would from a garage sale. I have sold a good amount of my lulu on a Facebook BST group. I simply post pictures with the condition of each item as well as the name or description of the item. Selling the items I no longer wear helps me justify buying new items from lululemon.
My favorite items
When I am going for a run and the weather permits, I am a skirt wearing kinda gal. I love not having to worry about if my shorts are riding up on me. Lululemon offers a wide variety of skirts for you to chose from. Currently, my favorite is the Hit Your Stride Skirt. I love how the shorts under the skirt has grips to insure they will stay in place throughout my run. This helps my thighs not to rub and create chaffing. When you don’t see me wearing a skirt I am in one of their running crops. The website does a great job on telling your what items are intended for what workout. Not all the crops would be great to run in. Make sure you get a pair that will be best for your workout. I am a huge fan on the high waisted crops. I feel more secure when I wear these versus the mid rise or low waisted ones. I never reach for my waist band and it stays in place. When I take or teach barre I wear any of the 7/8 length pants that are designed to run in as long as they are high waisted. I also avoid anything that has a zipper in the back. The zipper feature is great when I am running however, it is annoying and bothersome when I am laying on my back during an ab series.
Now that I have talked about items on my lower half, let’s talk about tanks and tops. I am a Lululemon Swiftly gal when it comes to running. It has mesh venting that encourages air flow which helps you to keep cool. Their silverescent technology is key to why I fan of this item. It inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria on the item, no need to worry about smelling bad. Swiftly’s come in tanks, t-shirts, and long sleeves. Next time you are in a store, make sure to try one one if you haven’t already. When it comes to tops I wear at barre I tend to stick to tank tops only. I prefer a longer length tank top that has mesh in the back. Since they come out with something new every week I have a wide variety of tank tops that I rock on a weekly basis.
When you go to the store and make a purchase you will walk out with a reusable shopping bag. I have saved almost all of my bags. The designs are great and motivational. I’ve used these shoppers to move, grocery shop, donate items, and as a gift bag. I love the recycling aspect of a quality shopper.
I seriously live in workout apparel or shall I say, Lululemon. I’m in my element when I feel comfortable and great and lulu does it for me. Be sure to treat yourself if you haven’t gone to a store or bought yourself something from Lululemon. You will soon find out why Lululemon is a win for me.
